Massage & Bodywork

When clients self-refer (or pay out-of-pocket), we have the freedom to mix and match a variety of bodywork “elements” — ie. styles, techniques, and modalities — that best serve your current needs: Massage, Manual Lymphatic Drainage, Craniosacral, Intra-oral / TMJD treatment, and a blend of somatic bodywork I call "Stone Medicine."

With a valid insurance claim + valid prescription (which must include: diagnosis codes, number of visits, and frequency or duration) I can submit billing to:
• PIP (first-party Personal Injury Protection) for Motor Vehicle Accidents (MVAs),
• L&I (Labor & Industries) for injuries sustained at your place of work.

Massage sessions for injury claims last 60-minutes each, and may consist of myofascial, neuromuscular, manual lymphatic drainage, and orthopedic techniques aimed at supporting the process of healing & recovery.

Note: I am not in-network for any major medical insurance network providers, such as Regence, Premera, Cigna, Aetna, United, Kaiser/First Choice. I can provide a receipt for you to send in for reimbursement, but I cannot guarantee that they will cover any of the costs.

In my philosophy: ### Massage shouldn’t hurt. Period.

When your body is craving pain-reduction, it’s counter-productive to inflict pain — especially in the name of health.

And while “no pain, no gain” is a clever phrase, whenever massage therapists (or other manual therapists) mash & grind on a client’s body, they often cause more injury and pain without realizing it.

Instead, I listen to my client’s body and allow it to direct my attention. I respond with light pressure when needed, or access deeper structures in the body when needed. This responsive approach allows me to address a wide variety of physical issues and complaints – acute injuries, chronic pains, muscular aches, connective tissue restrictions, and stored traumas and anxieties held throughout the body. I work with athletes of all abilities, including those who find they don’t have as much time or drive to exercise as they’d like. Whether you are large or small, young or old: my treatment is solid, gentle, responsive, and effective.

I graduated from Discoverypoint School of Massage in 2013, although I started training in bodywork in 2009. I’ve completed several advanced training programs and classes over the years, always adding to my assessment and treatment skills. I teach at Discoverypoint School of Massage, and I’m very committed to ongoing learning and improvement as a practitioner.
